About This Business
Craig Wadham ran the Tree Unit at Burnside Council before he and Kristy started 2nd Generation Trees in 2013. He went into horticulture and arboriculture with local government back in 1992, so there are more than twenty years of Adelaide trees behind the advice you get on site. Craig holds a Diploma of Arboriculture, a Cert III in Horticulture and a Cert II in Electrotechnology, and we are members of the South Australian Society of Arboriculture. We carry $20 million in public liability cover, we are RTWSA registered, and every job gets a SWMS and a risk assessment written before anyone puts a boot on the ground.
Tree removal is rarely just a question of size. Species, position and what sits underneath decide how a tree comes down, and we have the climbing experience and the gear to take out any species whatever the access is like. Stumps come out fresh or old, by hand or with the stump grinder, and we check where the underground services run before we start. When a tree is significant or regulated, we write the arborist reports and take the council application through for you.
Good pruning and trimming is the cheapest storm insurance going. We take out dead, diseased and damaged wood, lift canopies clear of roofs and driveways, shape fruit trees and palms, and keep hedges in order. There is tree selection and planting when you want to put something back, and elm leaf beetle treatment for elms that are under attack. What comes off a job leaves as mulch and firewood, and we deliver both.
We run a 24 hour emergency callout for urgent storm damage clean up, which covers damaged tree assessments, limbs off roofs and the debris that follows a big blow. If the yard simply looks like a storm has been through and needs a tidy, we do general debris removal too.
We are based in the Adelaide foothills and work across Adelaide, on home gardens as readily as on public tenders, private estates, corporate grounds and aged care facilities. We know the Mitcham Council native vegetation rules and South Australia's significant and regulated tree legislation, so you will get a straight answer on whether your tree needs approval before you go any further.
Quotes are free, and we would rather keep a tree than remove it. If it can be saved we will tell you how to save it, and if it cannot we will explain why. Give us a call and we will come out and have a look at it.
