Transport for NSW, Water NSW, Shoalhaven City Council, the SES and the Royal Australian Navy have all had us on site. A&D Tree Services is family owned and operated out of South Nowra, with more than 40 years of industry experience behind us and a second generation now running it: Cody is director, Dylan manages on site, and Jim has been operations manager since starting as a tree technician in the eighties. Everyone on the crew is qualified and insured, and as Cody puts it, tree care is in our blood.

For homes, tree felling takes out the dead and unsafe ones, tree trimming brings back the growth that has got away from you, and crown thinning and crown lifting handle the trees that only need the weight taken out or the lower limbs cleared for headroom. We shape hedges and topiary, and pull out the awkward climbers, bougainvillea and ivy included, then stump grinding takes the stump and the roots out afterwards.

On the commercial side, land clearing gets sites ready for housing and subdivisions, and we cut and maintain fire breaks and trails for hazard reduction burns, working for asset managers, land management agencies, utilities, local and state government departments, and the fire and emergency services. Fence line clearing, grubbing and vegetation management for new road construction round it out, and we have done that work for civil and construction groups, telecommunications companies and insurance groups.

Near power lines the job changes. We are a certified power line clearing company, able to work under any configuration of lines and prune to the Australian standards, which keeps outages down and the site safe. The plant to match it is ours too: chipper and cherrypicker hire, machine plant hire and heavy haulage are all available, whether we are running them on your job or you need the gear on yours.

What comes off the trucks gets sold on. Mulch goes out in bulk for gardens and landscaping, and firewood is available by the load. The yard is open Monday to Friday, 8 to 4, if you want to come and collect.
