A crane, an elevated work platform, an excavator, a Bobcat, a forest mower and a chipper live in our yard at Dubbo, and between them they decide which jobs we can take on. Chris Reynolds started A1 Tree Services NSW in 1991 after moving up from Sydney, directs it still, and holds a Certificate in Tree Surgery with more than thirty years in the trade behind him. Thirty five years working the one district is the figure we would sooner be judged on than any adjective, and we are a member of Arboriculture Australia.

Our patch runs a long way west. From Dubbo we work out to Cobar, Bourke, Coonamble, Coonabarabran and Walgett, and take jobs across the wider Central West for homeowners, businesses, schools, councils and government. Beau Reynolds has led our climbing crew for close to ten years and is the one who takes the large, awkward removals and the government contracts. Adam Martin came to us from powerline clearing, which is a useful background when a canopy has grown up into the wires.

Where a tree sits over a roof, a fence or a service line, the crane and the EWP are what let us dismantle it in sections and lift each piece clear, so nothing gets dropped where it stands and the garden underneath is still a garden when we drive away. On rural blocks the forest mower, the Bobcat and the excavator turn land clearing into a job measured in days. Everything green goes through the chipper and comes back out as mulch for your garden beds, so the waste from your job does not end up in a tip bin.

Every one of us is named on our own website with our tickets listed alongside. Chris Bush has been here since 2009 and holds Cert III in Horticulture (Arboriculture) with fifteen years in the industry. Ben Clark has run our machinery and ground crew for more than a decade, and Rebecca Waugh has managed the office since 2008. Between us we carry skid steer, front end loader, excavator and EWP permits, chainsaw and working at heights tickets, current first aid and OH&S risk management certificates, police checks and Working with Children clearances. Insurance runs to workers compensation, public liability and comprehensive plant and vehicle cover. If you are putting a crew onto a school, a council reserve or a commercial site, that is most of your paperwork answered before you ring.

Our phone is answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and our emergency crew turns out for storm damage, a split trunk or a tree across a driveway or a road without waiting for Monday morning. Tree removals, stump grinding, pruning and maintenance, chipping and mulching and commercial tree work all begin the same way, with one of us coming out to look at the tree and giving you a price for it.
