About This Business
A zero major incident record is the first thing we put in front of a client, because in vegetation work around live assets that number decides who gets the job. A1 Tree Specialists has been a privately owned Tasmanian business for more than ten years, run by Leigh and Sandra Winwood from Tarleton just outside Devonport, and we hold preferred supplier status with a number of significant organisations around the state. Behind that sits an integrated management system built to the Australian Standard ISO requirements covering safety, the environment and how our work is checked, along with documented policies on health and safety, environmental management, drug and alcohol management and return to work.
Powerline maintenance and vegetation management is a large part of what we are set up for, clearing and managing growth around lines and other assets to the standards the asset owner has to meet. Our commercial tree services run on the same footing, whether that is a council, a business park, a school or a developer, and we can work to a maintenance program rather than one job at a time.
On the domestic side, tree removal covers the tree that is dead, unsafe or simply in the wrong place, taken out whole where the ground allows and dismantled where it does not. Crown reductions bring an oversized canopy back into proportion without wrecking the shape of the tree, which is usually what people actually want when they ring up asking to have one topped. Once the tree is gone, stump removal and grinding finishes the job off below ground level so the ground can be used again.
Domestic and residential pruning is the everyday work: getting limbs off a roof or a fence line, clearing deadwood, opening a canopy up and keeping a tree in a shape that suits the block it is on. If you need the tree assessed rather than cut, our arborist reports and consulting put the condition, the risk and the options in writing for a council, an insurer or a planning application.
When branches come down in a storm or a tree goes over, we have several ways of getting to emergency and storm damage work, and we can also do the preventative pruning or removal beforehand that stops it happening. Our patch is the North and North West of Tasmania, taking in Launceston, Devonport, Burnie, Smithton and the West Coast, and we take on work in Victoria as well. The office is open half past seven to five on weekdays. Ring (03) 6427 2645 or ask for a quote through the site and we will come and look at the job.
