About This Business
Branches come down in a storm, or a whole tree goes over, and what you want then is someone with more than one way of getting to it. We hold a wide range of options for attending to emergency and storm damage, and we can do the preventative pruning or removal beforehand that keeps it from happening at all. A1 Tree Specialists is a privately owned Tasmanian business, established over ten years ago and run by Leigh and Sandra Winwood from Tarleton, just outside Devonport.
A zero major incident record is the number we'd put in front of a client first, because in vegetation work around live assets that is what decides who gets the job. Behind it sits a fully integrated management system built on Australian Standards ISO requirements covering quality, safety and environment, along with documented policies for occupational health and safety, environmental management, drug and alcohol management, quality assurance, and rehabilitation and return to work. That is what earned us preferred supplier status with a number of significant organisations around the state.
Clearing and managing growth around live powerlines is a large part of what we're set up for, from Launceston through to Burnie. Our commercial tree services run on the same footing, whether the client is a council, a business park, a school or a developer, and the work can be scheduled as an ongoing maintenance program instead of one job at a time.
On the domestic side, tree removal covers the tree that's dead, unsafe or simply in the wrong place, taken out whole where the ground allows and dismantled where it doesn't. Crown reductions and tree shaping bring an oversized canopy back into proportion while keeping the form of the tree intact. Once it's gone, stump removal and grinding finish the job below ground level so the ground can be used again.
Domestic and residential pruning is the everyday work: getting limbs off a roof or a fence line, clearing deadwood, opening a canopy up, and keeping a tree in a shape that suits the block it stands on. Where you want the tree assessed and not cut, our arborist reports and consulting put the condition, the risk and the options in writing for a council, an insurer or a planning application.
We work the North and North West of Tasmania, taking in Launceston, Devonport, Burnie, Smithton and the West Coast, and we take on work in Victoria as well. The office is open 7:30am to 5pm on weekdays. Ring us or send a quote request through the site, and we'll come out and look at the job.
