AB Trees

Ben is the son and Andrew is the father, and between them they have run AB Trees out of Spearwood since 2009. Ben holds full arborist certification from Challenger TAFE Murdoch with over a decade on the tools and heads the core team; Andrew takes the managerial side of it. We keep the crew deliberately small, which means the tree surgeon who quotes your job is the one who turns up to do it. Everyone working with us is either qualified or at TAFE getting there, our ground staff and truck drivers hold chipper and chainsaw tickets, and every job runs to the Australian Code of Practice. We are fully licensed and insured.

Most jobs never need a crane. When there is genuinely nowhere on the block to drop a section or lower it under rope, we have access to small and large cranes, and our cherry picker gets us up into the trees that are not safe to climb; the point is matching the machine to the block and your budget rather than hiring in something impressive. Ben's own eye is for reduction and shaping, and what he is aiming at on a prune is a tree that comes out of it safe, looking like itself, and putting on healthy growth for years afterwards.

The removals run from large trees down to the awkward ones: pines, gums, lilly pillys, yuccas, Japanese pepper trees and palms. Where a tree is staying, crown lifting gives you clearance underneath, crown reduction pulls a canopy back off a roof or a fence and crown thinning lets light and wind through it, and we prune palms, pines and figs the same way. Tree shaping and hedging holds a screen to a line, stump grinding deals with what is left in the ground, and block clearance and powerline clearance fill out the rest. We sell mulch from what comes off the jobs.

We work right across the Perth metropolitan area, north and south of the river, and we will take a job of any size within it.
