We would sooner find the reason one is struggling than reach for the saw, because often enough the trouble is a limb, a pest or a stretch of neglect and not the tree itself. Knowing a species and what it actually needs is the difference between a tree that comes good and a tree that gets replaced, and tree preservation is the part of this work we would rather be judged on.

Our 15 inch wood chipper is the piece of equipment that decides how a job runs, because everything that comes off a tree goes through it on site instead of onto a trailer. The 2.5 tonne excavator with a log grab takes the heavy end of a tree removal, lifting and shifting timber that would otherwise cost a crew half a day. With mulching of green waste on site, disposal never turns into repeat trips to the tip, and the stump removal gets what is left in the ground out once the tree is down, so you get the space back and not an obstacle to mow around.

On the tree pruning side the aim is a tree that fits the space it is growing in, which on most blocks means clearance from the roof, the gutters and the lines, done in a way that leaves the tree healthier for it.
