About This Business
Registered to use the Quantified Tree Risk Assessment method, qualified to AQF 2, 3 and 5 in Arboriculture, and compliant with AS 4373-2007 on every cut we make. Those are the credentials Accomplished Tree Management works to, and they are why a document with our name on it holds up when somebody argues with it. We have been a family owned arboricultural company in Port Macquarie since 2008, insured for $20 million public liability and $5 million professional indemnity, and Rhys is the one who takes your call.
A hazard assessment starts non invasively, reading the body language of a tree and what has changed around it. Where that is not conclusive there are two ways to look inside a trunk. A Resistograph is a specialised drill that leaves a discreet hole of roughly one and a half to three millimetres. A Picus Sonic Tomograph never breaks the wood at all, using the velocity of sound waves through the trunk, picked up by sensors mounted into the cambium layer and placed radially around it, to calculate where the decay actually sits. Being QTRA registered means we begin from how the ground beneath the tree is genuinely used, and that is what settles how much risk it truly poses.
Trees are self optimising structures, and they often need only small amounts of maintenance to stop branches failing. Removal of deadwood and end weight reduction on limbs are the most common and effective means of hazard management available to us, and further pruning beyond that is usually a question of appearance. All our pruning and climbing techniques are AS 4373-2007 compliant, and what we are working towards is the longest safe useful life a tree can give you.
Sometimes the tree cannot stay. Tree removal comes up when hazard management demands it, when a tree is no longer suited or viable where it was planted, when it is damaging the structure beside it, when a development or land clearing needs the ground, or when it has simply exceeded a safe useful life expectancy. We also take the dead and dying fronds off palms and defruit the unripened seed pods before they drop, which is what palm tree defronding amounts to. Stump grinding finishes a removal off, and in a confined space it is the only sensible way to get a stump out of the ground.
The consultancy runs alongside the climbing. We write arboricultural reports for development applications, compliant with AS 4970-2009 Protection of Trees on Development Sites, along with tree surveys and protection measures where a council has asked for them, reports for home owners who need evidence before pruning or removing, tree inspection programs kept on a database for investors, and the reports insurers and lenders want to see. Hazard identification checklists are completed by our qualified staff before any job begins. ThreeBestRated placed us in the top three tree services in Port Macquarie after a rigorous 50 point inspection, and we work from there out across the Mid North Coast and down to Taree.
