About This Business
A Picus Sonic Tomograph maps the decay inside a trunk by measuring how fast sound travels through the wood, and it is one of the tools we bring out when the condition of a tree is genuinely in question. Accomplished Tree Management has been a family owned arboricultural company in Port Macquarie since 2008, qualified to AQF 2, 3 and 5 in Arboriculture and a registered user of the Quantified Tree Risk Assessment method. Rhys takes the calls.
Not every tree can stay. Tree removal comes up when pests or rot have left a tree structurally unsound, when it has outgrown the spot it was planted in, when it is pushing into a structure beside it, or when a development application will not proceed with it there. Taking one out in a confined space is a complicated job involving several people at once, and we plan it so your property and the garden underneath come through untouched. Council rules on what you may and may not cut vary from one municipality to the next, and we are glad to walk you through the ones that apply to your address before anything gets booked in.
Where the tree is staying, the work is in the detail. All our pruning and climbing techniques comply with AS 4373-2007 Pruning of Amenity Trees, and the aim is the longest safe useful life the tree can give you, with the aesthetics following on from that. Removing deadwood and reducing end weight on heavy limbs is the most effective hazard management there is, and deadwooding is often all a healthy tree needs from us. A hedge is its own craft, since a new one takes years to establish and the early cuts matter most, so hedging is done at the start of spring and again at the start of summer to hold the shape. We also handle palm tree defronding, taking off dead fronds and unripened seed pods before they drop, and stump grinding to finish a removal off, which in a confined space is the only sensible way to get a stump out.
Consultancy runs alongside the climbing. We write arboricultural reports for development applications, compliant with AS 4970-2009 Protection of Trees on Development Sites, plus tree surveys and tree protection measures where the council has asked for them, reports for home owners who need evidence before pruning or removing, tree inspection programs recorded on a database for investors, and the tree reports insurers and lenders ask for. Hazard assessments begin non invasively, reading the body language of the tree and the changes around it. Where that is not conclusive we go to the second stage with a Resistograph, a specialised drill leaving a hole two or three millimetres wide, or the sonic tomograph. Being QTRA registered means we start from how the land under the tree is actually used, and that is what tells us how much risk the tree poses.
We carry $20 million public liability and $5 million indemnity cover, and hazard identification checklists are filled out by our staff before a job starts. ThreeBestRated placed us in the top three tree services in Port Macquarie after a 50 point inspection. Our work runs across Port Macquarie and the Mid North Coast down as far as Taree, and we take care to leave a site the way we found it.
