About This Business
Lopping is the one job we will try to talk you out of. The Australian Standard lists lopping and topping alongside wound painting and flush cutting as unacceptable practice, and Ace's Tree & Garden Service has worked to AS 4373 since we opened in 2000. We are an owner operated firm at East Fremantle, fully insured, with an unblemished safety record, and a qualified arborist attends every tree we are called to. Cut a tree badly and it comes back at you: the wounds are too big to seal, the trunk and branches are left exposed to heat, and decay and insects get in.
That standard shapes how we prune. Crown maintenance covers deadwooding, thinning, selective and formative pruning and a clean of the crown. Crown modification covers reduction, crown lifting, pollarding, remedial work and line clearance. Thinning opens the foliage so light and air move through, takes weight off the heavy limbs and keeps the tree's own shape. Raising lifts the lower branches clear of a roof, a driveway or a footpath. If your gutters keep filling with gum leaves, overhanging trees are usually the reason, and we can sort that out at the same time.
Tree removal is a last resort here, and we will say so when a tree can be saved. There are still times when one is dead, dying, irreparably hazardous, crowding and harming the trees around it, or sitting where a build has to go, and then it has to come out. Restricted access on a small block is not an obstacle. Stump grinding follows for stumps of any size, so nothing regrows and the roots stop lifting paths and pipes. With palms, palm pruning takes off the old fronds and the fruit clusters, which are only weakly attached, messy when they drop and a nesting spot for rats when they are left. A general tidy goes with all of it: deadwood, stubs and the diseased or deformed limbs off, and the site left clean.
Tree risk assessment and tree care treatments sit behind the practical work, and we will deal with neighbours and council officers where a boundary tree needs it. Our quote is a fair one and it will not always be the cheapest. A badly pruned tree is usually back needing work inside 12 months, while a mature tree pruned properly we would not expect to see again for three to five years, which is where the value for money actually sits.
Our patch runs from East Fremantle and Fremantle out across greater Perth: Joondalup, Hillarys, Ellenbrook, Midland, Kalamunda, Cannington, Canning Vale, Armadale, Rockingham and Baldivis, on everything from a single overgrown tree pushing into next door to a large vegetated block that has to be kept clear.
Quotes are obligation free. Ring 0401 336 699 or send your details through the contact form and we will come out, look at the tree and tell you plainly what it needs.
