Active Tree Fellas

A tree we take down does not have to end up as woodchip. We run a timber milling service, so a good log can come back to you as boards. Active Tree Fellas is a family owned business at River Heads on the Fraser Coast, over 12 years in business with more than two decades of tree surgery behind us, holding a Level 3 Certificate in Arboriculture and fully insured.

The gear list matters on this coast, where a job can be anything from a suburban backyard to open acreage. We run two skidsteer loaders, a Toro with a 525 sidetrack and a Vermeer ST800, an 18 inch BC1800XL wood chipper, a 21 metre Omme trailer lift cherry picker, a 5.5 Yamaha excavator, two stump removal machines with 38 horsepower on the bigger one, and climbing gear for everything the machines cannot get to.

Tree removal, tree trimming and pruning and palm tree maintenance are the everyday work, and we take on block clearing and excavation when a site has to be opened up properly. Safety is our first priority on every job, and the aim is always to get a tree out without marking what is standing around it.

What comes off a job gets put to use. Our wood chipping feeds a forest mulch supply you can buy by the load, we sell firewood as well, and stump removal and grinding clears the last of the tree out of the ground so the space is usable again.

We write arborist reports for owners and managers who need a considered assessment on paper, and we take on contract and scheduled maintenance so that trees on a commercial site or a body corporate block get looked at on a cycle. For emergencies we are available 24/7, including after hours removals when a tree has come down and cannot wait until the morning.

We cover Hervey Bay, Maryborough and the wider Fraser Coast, out through Howard, Burrum Heads, Torbanlea, Cherwell, Woodgate, Childers, Isis, Tiaro and Tuan, and up towards Bundaberg. We are open 7am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 1pm on Saturday. Our quotes are fixed price, so the figure we give you is the figure you pay. Give us a ring and we will come out and work it up.
