Mitchell Jovic left a steady job to run Affordable Tree Specialists full time, and seven years on that is still how we work: a family owned crew with more than 35 years of combined experience between us, looking after trees for homeowners, businesses, real estate agencies and public organisations across the Fraser Coast. Our arborists are qualified and fully insured, and we hold the accreditations the industry asks for, so the bloke climbing your tree has the training to be up there.

Every job starts with a look at whether the tree can stay. When it can, we thin a crown to let light back through, take weight off the limbs hanging over your roof or driveway, and pull a canopy clear of powerlines with tree pruning, crown thinning and tree lopping. When it cannot, we take it down. We handle tree removal and tree felling on blocks of every size, including established giants and palms that have outgrown the yard, and on a tight site we section the tree and rig each piece out rather than dropping it.

What comes off the job does not sit on your lawn afterwards. We bring our own chipper and turn the branches and green waste into mulch on the spot, then grind the stump out below ground level so you can turf or plant over it. We also look after commercial and strata tree work, and if you just want to know whether a tree is worth keeping, we will give you a straight answer before you spend anything on it.

Storms and cyclones are part of life up this way, so we answer the phone 24 hours a day for emergency tree removal and storm damage call-outs. If a tree is across your driveway at two in the morning or leaning on the roof after a blow has come through, we will get out to you, make the site safe and clear it. We take on insurance work too, and can put together what your insurer needs to see.

We are based between Hervey Bay and Maryborough and travel roughly 50km out from there, taking in Torquay, Tinana, Granville, Aldershot, Oakhurst, St Helens, Mungar, Glenwood and Gympie, along with the smaller spots in between like Bidwill, Ferney and Grahams Creek.
