A windblown tree hanging in its neighbours, or a street tree with traffic under it, is the sort of job nobody should be solving with a ladder and optimism. Agile Arbor Tree Services is locally owned, based at Kelso just across the river from Bathurst, and we take on work for homes, commercial properties and government projects, which is a wider spread than most tree businesses in the Central West attempt.

Our patch runs out from Bathurst through Orange, Blayney, Oberon, Lithgow and the Blue Mountains, with the wider NSW region covered where a contract calls for it. Wherever the job is, tree removal is there for the trees that have become unstable or hazardous, clearing the unsafe growth to protect the property, cut the storm related risk and give you the space back. Our tree pruning and maintenance takes the excess and weakened branches out so growth stays balanced and the tree stays stable, which is how storm damage gets headed off before it happens.

The machine that changed what we can take on is the Sennebogen 718E tree handler. It comes with a grapple saw as standard, so it grabs and cuts a tree in one step, and the operator cab elevates to 2.7 metres, which puts eyes on the work instead of guessing at it from ground level. It takes a tree harvester, a stump grinder, a mulcher and a hedge trimmer as attachments, so one machine can remove windblown or infested trees, clear roads, paths and embankments, handle roadside tree and shrub work and manage in town street trees. On the right job it cuts the timeframe and the cost with it.

Once a tree is down, our stump grinding and removal gives you the choice between grinding the stump out to remove the tripping hazard or full extraction that clears the roots completely. Everything that goes through the chipper comes back as wood chipping and garden mulch, which supports your soil structure and holds moisture in the garden beds.

On the bigger blocks, our slashing cuts back tall grass, weeds and dense patches to improve access and reduce fire fuel loads, our plant hire and clearing brings specialised machinery to heavy vegetation, tough terrain and difficult access, and our roadside chemical spraying applies selective treatments to keep weed growth down and sightlines clear for traffic.
