Andrew's Tree Care

The trade came to Andrew through his father. He worked in the family business from his teenage years, learned to climb there, and in 2020 he put his own name over the door as Andrew's Tree Care. Six years on he is still the one going up the rope, he oversees every project on the books, and he personally guarantees the standard of what leaves your property. Our arborists are certified, Andrew holds a certified advanced tree feller ticket, and the business is family owned and operated, fully licensed and insured.

What we have built this business on is technical removals and confined space tree work, the trees with nowhere to drop and no room for a machine to reach them. Those ones come out of the top, limb by limb on ropes, with everything lowered into whatever gap there is. We have handled complete removals of 50 metre trees and we have pruned a shrub in a back yard, and neither job gets less thought than the other, because the part that matters is always the same: what is sitting underneath the tree before anyone puts a saw into it. Distance is rarely what stops a job either. The whole of Tasmania is our run, from Smithton across to St Helens, down to Hobart and past it.

Cleaning up is part of the price, not a line added to it. A six inch compact chipper with its own bin gets down the side of a tight block, a larger chipper deals with the jobs that have real volume in them, and a tipping trailer and tipping truck cart the logs off, so wood chipping and log removal are finished while we are still on site. We carry the gear for hedge trimming on hedges large and small, and tree limb removal sorts out the single branch that has grown over the shed or the driveway without disturbing the rest of the canopy. Where something is going back in the ground, our tree planting runs through local nurseries so the tree suits the position and what you want from it.

Trees do not always come down to a schedule. Emergency tree care and fallen tree removal are there for the ones that go over in a blow or drop a limb across a driveway, and the sooner you ring the sooner we can be on the way. For everything else, the phone is on Monday to Friday between nine and six, and Saturday between nine and four.
