About This Business
Andrew grew up in this trade, working alongside his father's business from his teen years, and opened Andrew's Tree Care under his own name in 2020. He is still the lead climber, he oversees every project we take on, and he personally guarantees the standard of the work that leaves the site. Our arborists are certified, we hold a certified advanced tree feller ticket, and the business is fully licensed and insured. Your trees are a valuable asset on your property, and we would rather look after them than take them out.
The trees nobody can reach off a ladder are the ones we put ropes into. Tree climbing gets us up into a canopy no machine is ever going to reach, and from up there tree pruning can be done limb by limb, keeping the shape of the tree and putting nothing through the roof below. When a tree has to go, tree removals and tree felling are worked either in sections out of the top or dropped whole, depending entirely on what is sitting underneath it.
Not everything is a removal. Hedge trimming keeps a screen tight and square through the growing season. There is usually one branch that has grown out over the shed, the fence line or the driveway, and tree limb removal deals with that on its own without touching the rest of the tree. Where you want something back in the ground, our tree planting runs through partnerships with local nurseries so the tree you end up with actually suits the spot it is going into.
Cleaning up is part of the job, not an extra. We run a 6 inch compact chipper with a bin on the back for tight blocks, a larger chipper for the jobs with real volume in them, and a tipping trailer and tipping truck to cart it all away. Wood chipping and log removal happen while we are still on site, so the yard is clear by the time we drive out of it.
When a tree comes down without warning, emergency tree care and fallen tree removal are part of what we do for those unexpected events. We cover the whole of Tasmania, from Smithton across to St Helens and down to Hobart and beyond, so distance is rarely the thing that stops a job. Ring the mobile between nine and six through the week, or nine to four on a Saturday, and we will come out and look at the tree properly before putting a price on it.
