About This Business
Bamboo, bougainvillea and lantana are the three most crews would rather not touch, and they are three we list by name. Angry Ant Tree Services has been clearing what other people leave behind since Doug Protheroe started the business in 1974, and it is still family owned, now in its second generation, with more than seventy years of combined experience between our directors and twenty million dollars of public liability cover behind every job.
Fifty years in one city teaches you things a price list cannot. It is why our staff are fully trained rather than picked up for the week, why the seniors among our clients get a discount without having to ask for it, and why we would rather be described as the safest choice than the cheapest one. It is also why the phone still gets answered by someone who has been in the trade long enough to tell you over the call whether the job is worth a site visit at all.
On houses and acreage the regular work is tree lopping and complete tree removal, taken down in the way the site allows rather than the way that is quickest. Once a trunk is out, stump grinding takes the remainder below ground level so the ground can be mown, paved or planted, and palm tree removal handles the palms that stand in almost every South East Queensland yard and turn into a hazard the moment a storm arrives.
Beyond individual trees we clear the harder vegetation, with land clearing for residential and commercial blocks and both total and partial demolition where a structure has to go with it. Invasive growth is our specialty rather than an inconvenience, so bamboo removal, bougainvillea removal and lantana removal are jobs we quote on properly instead of finding a reason to decline.
What comes off a block goes back out as something usable. On-site wood chipping feeds our forest mulch sales and firewood supply, and mulch blowing lets us lay mulch across a garden or a large area quickly rather than by wheelbarrow. Councils, real estate agents, schools and builders use us alongside homeowners, and same day and emergency work is available when a tree has come down without any warning at all.
From Brendale we work across Brisbane, Redcliffe, the Moreton Bay region, Samford Valley, Dayboro, Caboolture, Bribie Island, the Glasshouse Mountains and the Sunshine Coast and hinterland. Ring us and we will come and have a look at whatever it is.
