About This Business
Anthony De Fazio came to arboriculture with an eye for detail about trees and about the landscape they sit in, and that combination is what A&P Tree Services is. It shows up in what gets asked before a job is priced: not only whether the tree is a problem, but what the garden is supposed to look like once we have gone. We are fully insured and we work in accordance with the Australian Standards, which on a pruning job is the difference between a tree that recovers and one that never quite does.
From Lancefield the work runs across the Macedon Ranges and out through Woodend, Kyneton, Gisborne, Macedon, Romsey, Trentham and Castlemaine. It is country of big established gardens, rural blocks and older townships, and very little of it is flat, open and easy to get a machine onto.
Which is why the climbing matters. A tree in a courtyard, boxed in by a house on one side and a boundary on the other, or one standing in a spot with no fall line at all, is a confined space removal: we go up on rope and harness and bring it down through whatever gap exists, in pieces small enough to carry out. No machine comes onto the lawn and nothing is dropped on a guess. The same access skills apply on the pruning side, where the choice is between six different jobs and picking the wrong one costs the tree. Formative pruning shapes a young tree for the next thirty years. Thinning, remedial pruning, selective pruning and crown lifting each solve a different problem, and deadwooding takes out the dead, diseased, damaged and structurally unsound wood before a limb decides for itself. Surplus growth is what turns into brittle limbs and stress points, and pruning at the right time is what stops that.
Where a tree is genuinely finished, from trunk damage, root damage, rot, fungus, infestation or a lean that has gone past recoverable, tree removal is the answer and stump removal follows it, because roots left in the ground will send the tree up again. Then there is the part people forget we do: we plant them too, and we transplant established trees that would otherwise be lost to a build or a redesign. If you have a tree coming out, ask what could go back in. Request a quote through the site or ring Anthony on 0417 059 969.
