Tree data from our assessments goes into ArcGIS and into Arafura Online, the system we built ourselves, so a client sitting on a few hundred trees can see what has been looked at, what it scored and what is coming due. Our consultants are certified in QTRA, Quantified Tree Risk Assessment, which means the risk on a tree comes back to you as a number you can act on and defend.

Arafura Tree Services & Consulting has more than 15 years in arboriculture behind it. We are certified to ISO 9001:2015 and to ISO 14001 for environmental management, accredited with Northern Territory Contractors Accreditation Limited, members of the Tree Contractors Association, fully insured, and externally audited every year.

The consulting side is where most of that lands. We write arboricultural reports and Preliminary Arboricultural Assessments for construction and redevelopment work, identify hazard and risk across a site, put tree protection plans together, and stay on as advisers and monitors while the project runs. The reports are written to Australian Standards and to what the Territory Government and community safety standards require.

On the tools, our tree surgery takes in crown reductions, dead wooding, and formative and corrective pruning, all of it done to Australian Standard AS 4373. Tree removals handle the trees that cannot be kept, and stump removal can be grinding, poisoning or taking the stump out altogether, whichever suits the ground and what you want to do with it afterwards. Ongoing pruning and maintenance is the cheaper way through, and it is what keeps a tree off the report as a hazard in the first place.

Past the trees themselves we take on revegetation and tree planting, chemical treatment and weed spraying, and landscaping and watering to get new stock through its first dry. We work for commercial and government clients as well as households, and we go out to remote and offshore sites across the Territory when the job is a long way from Darwin.

We are based at Pinelands and work right across the Northern Territory. Our hours are Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm, and we run 24hr emergency cover for storm damage and trees that have turned hazardous, through Darwin, Palmerston and the rural areas.
