Andrea and Jack run Arbor Co Tasmania and do the work themselves, out of Acton Park just east of Hobart. It is a close knit operation on purpose. We do not carry a large permanent crew. We partner with a network of skilled ground crew and contractors and bring them in when a job needs the extra hands, which keeps our overheads lean and our pricing with them, and means the people who quoted your tree are the people standing under it on the day.

Before a saw starts we check the tree and the bushes around it for nesting birds and other wildlife, every time. We are a licensed WIRES Wildlife Rescuer, so if something is living in there we know what to do about it rather than discovering it halfway through. We also wash our machinery down with biodegradable disinfectants, the kind used in national parks, so we are not carrying disease from one property's trees to the next. On the safety side we work with double lanyard systems and modern harnesses, and we are fully insured.

The work itself covers tree removal when a tree has genuinely reached the end, and tree pruning and hedging for everything that has not. Our tree health service is diagnosis and treatment, so a struggling tree gets looked at properly before removal becomes the only option anyone is discussing, and we do tree planting for people putting something back into the ground, which on a Tasmanian block usually means choosing a species that will still suit the spot in thirty years. We hold current membership with Arboriculture Australia, we use modern equipment for precise work, and the same care goes into a routine hedge trim as into a difficult takedown.
