My first climbing work was on the Royal Gardens and conservation sites of Central London, after I finished a Certificate III in Arboriculture at Capel Manor College in North London in 2005. Arboriculture had been part of my life since I was 17, and early on I learned off experienced climbers and picked up the habit of doing tree work properly. There was a stretch in Brisbane after that, and the last ten years have been in Perth, across technical removals, large eucalyptus trees, council street tree maintenance and commercial and residential pruning. That is more than 20 years of it now, and Arbor Culture Tree Management is where it has landed.

Tree surgery, pruning and maintenance takes in maintenance pruning, crown reduction, crown thinning, deadwooding, structural support and tree health assessment, on residential, strata and commercial sites. That work follows recognised arboricultural best practice and the Australian Standard for pruning, AS4373-2007. We look at the health, form, safety and future of a tree rather than over-cutting it for a quick visual fix.

When a tree genuinely has to go, tree dismantling and tree felling are done with section cutting, so it comes down in controlled pieces with minimal disturbance to what is around it, and stump grinding happens on site. We mulch the lot on site too, and you are welcome to keep the mulch, or the logs for firewood.

Hedge management is cutting, trimming and maintaining hedges so they hold a smooth line and keep growing healthy. Palms want somebody who knows them, and palm tree maintenance and removal covers fronds, seedpods, trunk cleaning and full removals.

Every job starts with the species, the condition, the access, the structures around it and the risk level, all worked out before anyone starts cutting. We are fully insured, quotes are free and carry no obligation, and the site gets left clean and tidy with the debris gone.
