John is the one who answers the phone at Arbor North Tree Services, and the business behind that number is second generation: family owned, family operated, seventeen years of tree work across Perth behind it, and Zac coming through the crew now as an apprentice climbing arborist, learning it the way the rest of us did. Everything is fully insured, public liability and workers compensation both, and the arborists who turn up at your place are qualified climbers.

Removal is the last option here, not the first. If a tree can be kept our arborists will say so and prune it instead, and when one does have to go, the specialised gear is what gets a big tree out of a tight back yard without damage to what is standing around it. Stump grinding follows, because taking the tree down is only half the job: a stump left in the ground trips people up, draws termites and ants, and often starts trying to grow back. The chips are recycled, the wood is yours to keep if you want it, and the site is left clean before we drive out of it.

Storm cleanups are a job of their own and the order you do them in matters. Our emergency call outs run 24 hours a day, and after a front has been through we assess the site before touching anything, work out which split trunks and hanging limbs are the immediate danger, clear the fallen timber for disposal or recycling, then walk the property again before we leave it.
