Which of us you get depends on where your tree is. Michael Masala takes the south, the south east and the east; Harry Armstrong looks after the Mornington Peninsula. Between them Arbor Solutions works Boroondara, Knox, Manningham, Maroondah, Whitehorse and the Yarra Ranges through the east, Bayside and the south eastern suburbs, and the peninsula itself, which puts Kew, Camberwell, Doncaster, Ringwood, Box Hill and Rowville inside our patch along with a good deal of the hills. A tree with a structural weakness does not automatically have to come out. Cable bracing starts with a proper structural evaluation to find the weak points, and from there we work out where the cables and hardware belong, taking in branch and trunk structure, load distribution and the stress the tree will actually see, alongside its species, age, health and the conditions around it. The cables are then tensioned and secured so they carry the load without doing harm, and so the tree can still move and grow the way it wants to. We have installed a dynamic cable brace at Red Hill and both static and dynamic systems at Croydon.

The stump grinding and the mulching go into the same job, so there is nothing left over for you to organise afterwards. Tree pruning looks after the trees that are staying. Cutting the bushfire risk on a property is fire prevention works: pruning, removal, mulching and vegetation grooming. Before a build or a new garden goes in, site preparation covers vegetation clearing, grading, drainage and erosion control.

The consulting arm is a genuine second half of this business. Our arborist reports take in tree reports, impact assessments, pre development reports and risk assessment reports. Hazard and risk assessment sets out the tree specifics, the type of hazard present and the degree of risk attached to it. For a building site, tree protection plans assess what the build will do to the trees on it and set the construction guidelines that have to hold for the duration of the works. Tree planting comes with advice on what will genuinely suit the spot, and gear that keeps the root zone intact going in. To stop possums stripping a tree, possum guards and pest control uses tree wraps, physical barriers and deterrents that do the animals no harm, with pest identification and follow up monitoring afterwards.

The mulch we deliver throughout Melbourne and the peninsula is material we have generated ourselves, and we sell logwood as well.
