Arborcare Tree and Garden Solutions

For plenty of people the first call to Arborcare Tree and Garden Solutions is a question rather than a job: is this tree safe, can it stay where it is, what will a new extension do to its roots. David Mably has been answering questions like those across South Australia since 1986. He started Mablys' Horticultural and Arboricultural Services, trading as Mablys' Tree and Stump Contractors, and ran it through to 2002, then spent seven years as Tree Officer at Mitcham Council before moving into private consulting. He works out of Pasadena and is fully insured.

That background sits behind our tree assessments and reports: a written view on whether a tree is safe, whether it can stay where it is, and what a set of building plans will do to its root zone. Our tree and garden assessments take in the whole block rather than the single tree you were worried about.

When there is hands-on work to do, we cover tree removals, pruning and trimming, and shaping and deadwooding on both trees and shrubs, with the chipping and debris cleared so you are not left with a heap of it on the lawn. Stump removal tidies up what is left in the ground, and planting and transplanting goes the other way, putting something new in or shifting a tree that has ended up in the wrong spot.

The garden side runs from consulting through design to getting plants in the ground. We take on landscape design and organic gardens, native and exotic planting, low maintenance layouts, soil conditioners, irrigation, garden clean-ups, and the rejuvenation of old, stressed gardens and trees that have been let go for a few seasons. Fruit tree, rose and vine pruning is a job of its own, and we are happy to take it on.

Our clients run from private homes to commercial and industrial property managers, builders and developers, local councils, state government bodies, and public and private schools. Over the years that has taken in AAMI Insurance, Kooyonga Golf Club, the Department for Environment and Heritage, and SA Health sites including Lyell McEwin, the Queen Elizabeth and Hillcrest.
