About This Business

For more than twenty years north west Tasmania has been our patch. Arborimage is family owned and locally operated out of Wynyard, and across two decades in the industry we have taken on tree work for clients here at home and further afield around Australia. The trees we get called to are rarely standing on their own in an open paddock. They are hard against houses, over service lines, beside sheds and fences, and in among the prized plants somebody has spent years getting established. Working around all of that without marking any of it is what the job actually asks of us.

On a block with no clear drop there is nowhere for a tree to fall, so we rig it and lower it to the ground piece by piece. A sixteen metre cherry picker gets us into the crowns that are awkward or unsafe to climb, and our trucks and woodchippers follow the work so the clean up is finished before we pull out of the driveway. In more than twenty years on the tools we have yet to make a single insurance claim, and we intend to keep it that way. Liability, indemnity and work cover policies are all in place, and every one of our staff is licensed and insured.

Where a tree is staying put, our tree pruning brings the height down so branches do not fail, takes the weight off heavy lateral limbs, clears out deadwood and decayed or weakened growth, and improves the structure the tree is carrying. Stop before you lop is worth saying out loud, because somebody untrained with a chainsaw can do damage a tree never grows out of, and spread decay and disease while they are at it. Hedging gets the same attention, holding a screen or a boundary line to the shape and height you want it through the year.

Some of what we do never involves a chainsaw at all. Our tree hazard inspections and written reports identify the hazards and risks on a site, then set out the management practices that will improve a tree's health, structure and safety, or take a problem tree out of the picture altogether. That work counts most on trees in medium to high traffic areas or near valuable infrastructure: roads and busy pedestrian areas, schools and universities, public parks and reserves, and anything growing tight up against a building. The report you get becomes an ongoing record of the maintenance that tree will need. Tree consultations handle the smaller questions, starting with a walk over the property and an assessment of each tree's health, structure and growth patterns before anything goes in writing.

Once the tree is down there is a stump in the ground and a heap of limbs in the yard, and both are ours to sort out. We finish with stump grinding so you are left with a level lawn you can turf, pave or plant straight over, and the limbs go through the chipper where they fell. With tree chipping and onsite mulching the mulch either stays with you for the garden beds or leaves on the truck, and we do the same for homes, businesses, schools and city parks across north west Tasmania. The phone here is answered twenty four hours a day, Monday to Sunday. Send us an SMS with a photo of the tree and the address and you will get an instant quote back, and if somebody has already given you a figure, tell us what it was, because we will beat any genuine quote.
