Arborman

The biggest mobile whole tree chipper in Western Australia is ours, and it is the reason we can knock down and process a tree of any size in one go. Arborman was established in 2003 and is based in the Perth Hills, where you will regularly find us scaling one of the enormous and often dangerous trees in a hills garden, though we are happy to travel anywhere in the Perth metro area for a problem tree. What worries people is a dead tree and the limbs that come off it in a storm or a high wind. Plenty of Perth backyards also have natives that went in the wrong spot years ago and have since grown to their natural size, which leaves branches hanging over the house or the neighbour's fence and no easy way in to get at them. We can do any tree in any situation with no damage. Our climbers are experienced in limited access areas and we carry the specialised equipment and rigging to bring a tree down in pieces where there is nowhere for it to fall.

Out on the bigger blocks, forestry mulching does the whole job in a single pass. Mobile machinery grinds the unwanted vegetation, trees, brush and stumps into mulch, and we spread that back as evenly as we can across the cut area, where it slows the first flush of regrowth, holds the soil against erosion and decomposes into fresh topsoil. It can also be done in weather that would shut other methods down. That work takes in powerline easement clearing, fence line clearing, firebreaks, fuel hazard reduction, site preparation and lot clearing, orchard and vineyard renovation, clearing for grazing stock, undergrowth reduction and native revegetation.

Not every tree has to come out. As qualified arborists we can tidy one up so the property looks better with the tree still standing in it, and we choose which limbs and branches come off so it keeps its strength along with its shape, because pruning done badly leaves a tree weaker than it was. Perth summers are hot and dry, so where there is dead timber and leaf litter sitting close to the house we will do the surgery to bring the fire risk down, and the same goes for branches working their way into the power lines. Deadwood and diseased timber removal, aesthetic pruning and canopy thinning all sit here too.

Once a tree is out we can arrange stump grinding, taking the stump and the roots to 300mm below the surface so you can put ground cover, shrubs or even lawn where there used to be too much shade for any of it. We will cart the wood away and leave the site clean, or leave you the woodchips, whichever suits you.
