Arbortec Tree Service

Arbortec Tree Service was started in Dubbo in 2016 by Shannon and Kristen Hart, a husband and wife team, and is registered and certified by Supply Nation as an Indigenous business. Nine years on it is still the Harts running it. Between them the crew brings more than 35 years in the industry, and they are certified arborists, fully licensed and insured, and WHS compliant.

The work covers tree removal, stump grinding, pruning and maintenance, and chipping and mulching. Commercial tree services are handled as their own line rather than folded into the domestic side, which suits the council, business and rural clients out this way. Land clearing and firebreaks round it out, and across the Orana that firebreak work is a seasonal necessity rather than a nice extra. Emergency tree services run 24/7. Trading hours are listed as open around the clock, Monday through Sunday, which for a business covering this much country is less about convenience than about a storm at Bourke not waiting until Monday morning. Trees across driveways, limbs on roofs and whatever a westerly leaves behind are the calls that come in outside hours.

The plant behind the work includes stump grinders the site calls state of the art, crane gear for lifts that cannot be done by hand, and John Deere and Vermeer machinery. Naming the brands is a small thing but a telling one: an operator who lists Vermeer grinders and John Deere plant is describing a fleet they own rather than gear hired in when a job turns up. Between the crane and the grinders, most of what a regional block throws up can be dealt with without subcontracting it out.
