Not every tree has to come out. With our habitat creation service we use an ArborGrub hollowing tool to cut nesting hollows into living or dead trees, so birds, bats and other native species have somewhere safe to shelter, and it is done without harming the health of the tree. If you have a dead trunk standing on the block, keeping it as habitat is often a better outcome than a removal, and we will tell you when that is the case.

People come to us for tree removal when a tree has turned hazardous, outgrown its spot or picked up a disease. We keep the rest of your property protected while it comes down and hand back a clean, tidy yard at the end. Access is usually what decides how a removal is done, whether the tree can be felled whole or has to come out in sections over a fence, a shed or a garden you want left intact.

Once the tree is gone we can grind the stump out, generally 150 to 300mm below ground level depending on the stump and the site, leaving a smooth finish you can turf or plant straight over. A small stump is often done in 15 to 30 minutes, while a larger one, or one in an awkward spot, takes an hour or more. Narrow gates and tight backyards are no trouble, because our grinding gear is built to fit through them.

Our tree pruning and reductions take in dead wood removal, crown reductions, formative pruning, structural pruning, vista pruning and hazard reduction pruning. A reduction brings the size or height of a tree down while keeping its natural shape and health, and if you are planning ahead, late winter to early spring suits most trees here, since it encourages strong growth and lowers the risk of disease. We also take on hedge trimming, including overgrown hedges of any size that need reshaping, and every clipping leaves with us when we go.
