About This Business

An overhanging branch looks smaller from the ground than it turns out to be. Even a modest limb growing over a house, a business or a garage puts the building and everyone using it at risk, and the next decent storm is usually what brings it down. That's the call Atlas Trees is set up for, with more than 25 years of Adelaide tree work behind us and $20 million in public liability cover.

You can't just hack into a tree with a chainsaw. In the same way a doctor works, the tree gets assessed and examined before any work takes place, and that matters most on an uncommon species where a bad cut isn't something you can undo. Our arborists carry bachelor degrees in Environmental Management or Certificates in Arboriculture, which take years to earn, and we climb with proper equipment and work off raised platforms, including 60ft tower access when it's the top of the tree that has to come out.

Palms are their own argument. The outer fronds shed constantly and in high wind they can damage a structure or injure someone walking past, but those same fronds are often what protects the tree against frost damage, so taking one out isn't automatic. Palms also drink an enormous amount of water and can leave the plants around them wilting for the lack of it. We'll look at yours and tell you whether pruning will make it safe enough, and where it does have to go, palm tree removal is quick and we mulch the tree for you on the way out.

Tree removal here runs from a dead one in the back corner through to a large tree leaning on something it shouldn't be, and no tree is too big, too small or too awkwardly placed to take on. Where the tree can stay, limb reduction, dead wood removal and tree surgery deal with what's dangerous: thinning or bracing limbs makes them less likely to come down in high wind, and it puts light back onto the plants underneath. Our Rayco stump grinders reach the awkwardly placed stumps and destroy them completely, so nothing sprouts back around them. We supply mulch, we run 24/7 storm damage emergency work, and we write arborist reports where a decision needs the tree assessed on paper first. If possums are your problem, a guard or collar around the trunk can keep them out of the branches altogether.

Between the Seacliff Gardens and Unley bases we look after homes and businesses right across the southern, eastern and western metropolitan areas of Adelaide. Advice is free and so are quotes, so ring the office or put the job through the contact form and tell us what the tree is doing. Difficult, dangerous and awkwardly placed trees are the specialty, and you'll be contacted as soon as we can get to you.
