Since 2000, when Australian Tree Care began its Tasmanian chapter in Launceston, we have worked for private homeowners, corporate clients and government departments in much the same way: turn up, say what the tree needs, and charge a fair rate for doing it. Frank Rosol leads the crew. He holds a Certificate III in Arboriculture and has more than 25 years in the industry behind him, and the arborists and horticulturalists working with him are qualified and experienced in their own right.

Frank's own interest is in tree pruning and styling, and it is the reason clients with heritage trees keep coming back to him year after year rather than ringing whoever is closest. A tree that gets shaped properly holds its form for a long time, so the work is worth doing carefully the first time. Canopy reduction is the practical end of the same skill, bringing a crown back in off a roof or a boundary while leaving a tree that still looks like a tree.

Where a tree has to come out, we handle tree removals and tree felling, in tight suburban backyards and on open rural ground alike. Risk reduction and management is the step before that, going over a tree properly and taking off what is likely to fail before it does. If you need it in writing, our tree reports cover a tree's condition and the risk it carries, which is what a council, an insurer or a planner will want to see.

Not everything is a saw job. Elm beetle control matters around Launceston, where the old elms are worth protecting and will strip bare without treatment. Another regular one is service line clearing, keeping growth off the wires running into a property before it starts arcing or pulling on them. What comes off our jobs gets chipped, and we sell mulch from it, so a load can go straight onto your garden beds instead of into a tip.

The phone is answered eight in the morning to eight at night, Monday to Saturday, and emergency and storm damage call-outs are part of what we do, so a tree that has come down in a blow is not something you sit on.
