A dead or declining tree does not have to become a stump and a gap. Wherever it is possible we turn one into a safe, functional wildlife habitat: cutting hollows into the stem, installing nesting boxes, and using coronet pruning to make the tree safe to have standing on the property. What you are left with is a stem that keeps housing the birds and animals already living in it, which on a rural block is worth more than the firewood would have been.

Pruning here is standards based, and it is never lopping. Maintenance pruning, deadwooding, defect removal, weight reduction and formative pruning are each a different cut made for a different reason, and every one of them is meant to leave the tree healthier and safer than we found it. Our utility and asset pruning manages vegetation around power lines, so a clearance notice in the letterbox or a neighbour raising the limbs going over the fence is something we can bring back into line. Fire mitigation reduces the hazard around a property before summer and keeps it compliant. When severe weather has been through, our emergency and storm damage response gets an arborist out to assess the damage, remove what has become dangerous and make the place safe to walk around again.

Nothing we fell has to leave as waste. Structural milling and slabbing turns your logs and removed trees into usable recycled timber, and log removal deals with the felled, fallen or hazardous ones you want gone, with the timber recycled or repurposed wherever there is something worth saving. If a big hardwood is coming off your block and you would rather have it back as slabs, tell us before we start cutting, because how a trunk is sectioned on the day decides what can be milled out of it later. Land management ties the rest of it together on the larger properties.
