A twelve month guarantee sits behind the work we specify and carry out under our upgraded tree management service, with the terms and the scope of it set out on the formal quote and invoice. Barnes Tree Services works out of Moss Vale, our qualified arborist holds both a Level 3 and a Level 5 qualification, and we have deliberately kept our knowledge focused on the Wingecarribee and its unusual mix of native and exotic trees.

That qualification shows up most plainly in the tree pruning. Crown reduction, crown lifting, formative pruning, pollarding and hazard reduction pruning are five different jobs with five different outcomes, and which one a tree wants depends on the tree in front of us. Clearance pruning, deadwood removal and service wire clearance are part of the same work, and we take on hedge trimming and pleaching as well.

When a tree does have to come out, complete tree removals and crane assisted removals are handled by a crew with the gear behind them: a 15 metre and a 23 metre spider lift cherry picker, a 15 inch chipper, a stump grinder, an Avant loader, large tippers, and 4x4 and AWD trucks that will get onto most sites in most conditions. Our collection of ground protection mats means wet or soft ground does not stop the job or wreck your lawn, and the crew runs helmet communication systems so everyone hears the same instruction. Stump grinding and mulching follow on to finish the site.

There is a consulting side to the business as well. We carry out tree inspections, write arborist reports, do root mapping, tree transplanting and tree protection for development sites, and we can walk you through the council approval process, which in the Wingecarribee is often the first hurdle. We identify and treat pests and disease, manage weed species and put together holistic management plans for a whole property.
