About This Business
A twelve month guarantee sits behind the work specified and carried out under our upgraded tree management service, with the terms and the scope written onto the formal quote and invoice and additional documentation supplied that standard works do not include. That guarantee rests on something concrete. Our qualified arborist holds both a level 3 and a level 5 qualification, and Barnes Tree Services carries a Workers Compensation policy and a Public Liability policy behind every job.
We have deliberately kept the business inside the Wingecarribee, so our knowledge stays focused on this area's unusual mix of native and exotic trees. That takes in Moss Vale, Bowral, Burradoo, Mittagong, Berrima, Kangaloon, Glenquarry, Exeter, Joadja, Robertson, Burrawang, Bundanoon, Sutton Forest, Colo Vale, Hill Top and the villages between them. Private homeowners, development sites, commercial properties, government clients and schools all use us, and we manage trees across housing estates, strata estates and parks.
Ask us to lop a tree and you will get an explanation before you get a quote. Lopping and topping are terms for nondescript internodal cuts made without regard to pruning dose or cut size, they cause the problems they are meant to solve, and Council typically will not approve them. What we do instead is proper tree pruning: crown reduction, crown lifting, formative pruning, pollarding and hazard reduction pruning are five distinct jobs with five different outcomes, and which one your tree wants depends on the tree. Clearance pruning, deadwood removal and service wire clearance are part of the same discipline, along with hedge trimming and pleaching. Pruning to Australian Standards does not generally need Council approval, though heritage sites can be a different matter, and we will tell you which applies during the consultation.
When a tree genuinely has to come out, complete tree removals and crane assisted removals are handled by a crew with the gear behind them: a 15 metre and a 23 metre spider lift cherry picker, a 15 inch chipper, a stump grinder, an Avant loader, large tippers, and 4x4 and AWD trucks that make site access possible in most conditions. A large collection of ground protection mats means wet or difficult ground neither stops the job nor wrecks your surfaces, and the crew works on helmet communication systems so everybody hears the same instruction. Stump grinding and mulching follow on to finish the site.
There is a consulting side to all this as well. We carry out tree inspections, write arborist reports, do root mapping, tree transplanting, habitat creation and tree protection for development sites, and we can walk you through the Wingecarribee vegetation clearing permit and exemption process. We identify and treat pests and disease, manage weed species, and put holistic management plans together for a whole property. If a tree or a limb has already failed, emergency tree work and storm damage jobs get a prompt response, an assessment and a set of options, and we handle insurance related tree works too. Our hours are Monday to Friday from seven to five with Saturdays by appointment. Ring us to book a quote or a site meeting.
