Every job that leaves our yard is performed or supervised by an arborist at AQF Level 3 or Level 5, and the Level 5 consultants are in house, not brought in when a report is wanted. Bay Tree Services has worked out of Carrum Downs since 2002, across south east Melbourne, the bayside suburbs and the Mornington Peninsula. Joshua Trevor is a member of the International Society of Arboriculture, CSID 373764. We hold public liability cover to $20 million, professional indemnity and workers compensation, and every pruning cut is made to AS 4373 with tree protection work assessed against AS 4970:2025.

The commercial side is where that paperwork earns its keep. Strata communities, schools and early learning centres, developers and civil contractors, government and infrastructure projects, industrial and retail sites all want the same things before a contractor gets through the gate: a site specific Safe Work Method Statement, a risk assessment, a toolbox meeting on the morning, traffic control and exclusion zones where the job needs them, and Tree Protection Zone and Structural Root Zone figures worked out properly for anything being built near. We are registered with SAM4Schools, we schedule outside business hours where the site cannot afford the disruption, and contracted clients have an emergency response arrangement with us.

Along the bay we cover Brighton, Elwood, St Kilda, Hampton, Cheltenham, Mentone, Mordialloc and Aspendale. Inland that runs through Malvern, Camberwell, Burwood, Oakleigh, Springvale, Dandenong, Noble Park and Keysborough, and south east through Carrum, Seaford, Frankston, Langwarrin, Cranbourne, Narre Warren and Hallam, then down the peninsula to Mornington and Mount Eliza and out to Balnarring.

On the tools we run Stihl saws, Silky hand saws and Yale bracing gear. Tree pruning is cut to the standard, tree removal takes out what genuinely cannot be kept, and stump grinding clears the ground behind it. The larger version is land clearing, for blocks heading to development or properties being taken back after years of neglect, while tree planting puts something back where a tree has had to come out. Emergency tree works covers storm damage and fallen trees, make safe first and the site cleaned up after. Our Level 5 arborists write the arborist reports that go to councils for permits, to planners with development applications, and into disputes where somebody needs a qualified position in writing.

The job is not finished when the truck pulls out. You get a post work summary with photographs, an updated tree list and our recommendations, which is what keeps your compliance records straight for insurers, auditors and council inspections. Where a tree can be saved we will extend its life instead of removing it, timber and mulch are recycled, and we replant where a tree has gone. Quotes cost nothing.
