About This Business
Bayside blocks are not generous. Old gardens, big established trees, a side access you can just walk a machine down and a neighbour's roofline three metres over the fence. That is the ground Bayside Trees works, from Black Rock through Brighton, Brighton East, Hampton, Hampton East, Sandringham, Beaumaris and Highett, along the bay through Cheltenham, Mentone, Parkdale, Mordialloc, Aspendale, Edithvale and Chelsea, and on down the Mornington Peninsula as far as Sorrento. Chris Garbacz is a Bayside local and started the business after seeing how hard it was for homeowners to get a tree company that turned up and took care over the job.
All of which is why a removal here is seldom a felling. We climb the tree and dismantle it in sections where the space allows nothing else, rigging and lowering every branch and length of timber under control, coordinating around powerlines and restricted access, and protecting the roofs, fences, gardens and structures inside the drop zone. Timber is cut into manageable sections as it comes down, branches and foliage go through the chipper, and most residential removals are finished inside a day. If you want the mulch or the firewood kept, say so beforehand and we will leave it stacked for you.
Tree pruning keeps canopies back off roofs and the deadwood out of them, and stump grinding takes out what is left once a tree has gone, front yard, back yard or the restricted access spots a grinder has to be walked into. Formal hedges and screening stay in shape under hedge trimming, palm tree services deal with fronds and seed heads, and green waste removal means what comes off the job leaves with us. Our commercial tree services cover the same stretch of coast for businesses, body corporates and property managers.
Councils will ask for a report before they approve a removal, and taking out a protected tree without approval carries penalties, so it pays to have the paperwork right. Our arborist reports identify the tree by species, height, canopy spread and trunk diameter, then work through canopy density, disease, deadwood and foliage, branch attachments, cracks, cavities, defects and lean. They take in what surrounds the tree as well: nearby buildings, any proposed construction and the impact on the root zone. Photographs and our recommendations go in with them. People use them for planning permits and development applications, for body corporate and property management decisions, and for insurance and legal matters. We confirm the scope and the fee up front, assess the tree on site, write the report, then take you through what it says.
We carry comprehensive public liability insurance, work to strict safety procedures and leave the site clean when we are done. The quickest way to a price is to text a photo to 0402 080 770. Include your suburb, what you want done, and shots that show the tree, the structures near it and how we would get access. Plenty of straightforward jobs we can quote from that alone, and anything larger or more involved gets a free onsite inspection at no charge. We are open Monday to Saturday, 8am to 4pm, so send it through whenever it suits and we will come back to you.
