Beamer Tree Services has been working the Clarence Valley for more than twenty years. Graham Beamer started it, and it is now run by Jeremy Wright, who has been with the business over fifteen of those years, so the handover was to someone who already knew every property and every problem tree in the district. It operates out of Maclean and services the entire Clarence Valley.

The qualifications behind the work are a Diploma (AQF) of Arboriculture, Chainsaw Operations levels I, II and III, and a Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training. That last ticket is the one that lets an operator formally train and assess others, which is not a common thing to hold in a business this size.

The service picks up early signs of decay, disease and hazard, liaises with councils on compliance with legal and environmental regulations, and produces tree management and protection plans for planning applications. Annual inspections are available for insurance and liability purposes, and reports can be written to support an application for removal, including after storm damage has already forced the issue. The stated aim is to leave the client understanding how to maintain the tree and plan for its growth, not just holding a document.
