Graham Beamer established Beamer Tree Services, and his mentee Jeremy Wright, known to everyone around here as Jerry, has taken the reins after more than fifteen years working alongside him. Behind that handover sits more than twenty years of the same business servicing the entire Clarence Valley from Maclean, and Jerry's team of qualified arborists and ground staff is fully insured.

The tickets behind the work are a Diploma (AQF) of Arboriculture, Chainsaw Operations Levels I, II and III, and a Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training, which is what lets us train and assess our own people on site. Every job complies with strict Safe Work Method Statements. A dead, diseased or hazardous tree gets our tree removal, then stump grinding, or stump poisoning where grinding is not practical and the stump simply needs to stop coming back. Our tree pruning covers crown reduction, crown thinning, crown lifting and dead wooding, tailored to the needs of the tree and the property it is standing in.

What comes off your trees goes back out as mulch, and we sell it by the cubic metre in Maclean and surrounds. Laid at least 10cm deep it shields the soil from the sun and holds the moisture in, stops topsoil washing off, cuts down water runoff and watering, and restricts weed growth, while adding organic matter and bringing earthworms back into the bed. Two things worth knowing: keep it away from the trunk itself or you invite collar rot, and top it up regularly, because mulch decays quickly in the subtropics.

Tree reports and assessments are the other half of what we do. We pick up the early signs of decay and hazard, we liaise with the local councils so that you are compliant with the relevant legal and environmental regulations, and where a hazardous tree has to go, we deliver the report that supports the application for its removal. Our landscape gardening looks after the ground once the trees are sorted out.
