The name is a fair hint at what we are set up for. Black Stump Tree Services keeps stump grinders that range from compact machines for tight access to one of the biggest in the area, so a stump wedged down the side of a house is as workable as one sitting in an open paddock, and one stump or thirty is the same phone call. Roger has run the business out of Nairne in the Adelaide Hills since 1996, with more than three decades on the tools behind him.

A grinder chews the stump down into the ground until it virtually disappears, and if you would sooner have a stump poisoned than ground out, we are certified in the safe transport and application of chemicals for that. Either way the ground comes back usable.

For tree removal we want the job done quickly, safely and with no mess left behind. Our arborists are experienced climbers and we have cherry pickers on hand as well, so a tree hanging over a roof or tucked in behind a shed is still something we can get at. We can mulch the debris on site and leave it for you to spread back through the garden, or cart it away, whichever suits you.

We do plenty of tree pruning too, shaping and thinning to keep a tree healthy and off your roof and out of the power lines. If you want an opinion before you commit to anything, our arborist work covers tree care and health advice and land clearing advice. Everyone on the crew is fully trained and qualified and works to the relevant Australian standards, and we carry Workers Compensation Insurance and ten million dollars of public liability on every job.

We are based in Nairne and happy to work anywhere across the Adelaide Hills and Adelaide's Eastern Suburbs, and, as the name suggests, beyond the black stump as well. The work runs across residential gardens and commercial premises, and we are set up to reach trees wherever they happen to be growing.
