Keep it or cut it is usually the wrong question. Sometimes caring for Country means protecting and nurturing a tree, and sometimes it means making the tough call to take one out, whether that is for community safety, for bushfire risk reduction, or to leave strategic habitat logs behind for the things that live in them. At Bowarring Tree Management we work out the right decision for the health of Country, and then carry it out properly.

Bowarring comes from the local Yorta Yorta language and means bloom on trees. A bloom is a sign of life, growth and resilience: it means the tree is cared for, the environment is balanced, and nature is doing what it is meant to do. That is the benchmark we hold ourselves to, and it is why the name is on the truck. Jackson Charles is our director, a proud Yorta Yorta local with a Diploma of Arboriculture and more than five years in the industry.

From Shepparton we provide arborist services to all industries across North East Victoria, Southern NSW and the surrounding districts. That covers council and government work, where the reporting and consulting has to satisfy strict regulatory standards; schools, where tree management, risk assessments and reporting keep outdoor environments safe for students and staff; and civil construction, where we come in alongside contractors and developers from planning right through to delivery.

Reporting is where a lot of projects are won or lost. We write our arborist reports and assessments for compliance, planning and risk management, and they are what a council, a developer or a property manager relies on to make a decision they can stand behind. Getting an accurate assessment done early is what supports an approval and keeps a project moving, and it costs a fraction of what it costs to discover the problem once the machinery is already on site.

The hands-on side runs from tree pruning for health, safety and appearance, taking in shaping, thinning and hazard reduction, through to tree removal of hazardous, dead or unwanted trees, including the complex ones that need the right equipment behind them. Stump grinding and removal leaves a site clear and usable afterwards. We use tree mulching to recycle the waste back into soil health and landscaping, and with tree planting and maintenance we play the long game, because grow, protect and preserve only works if somebody does the growing.
