Elm leaf beetle is one of the local problems we get called about, and treating it sits on the list alongside the climbing and the removals. Bradsworth Tree Services & Contracting was established in the Albury Wodonga region in 2011 by Ryan Bradsworth, who had already been working in the tree industry since 2004. Ryan holds an AQF5 Diploma in Arboriculture and spent seven years with commercial and residential outfits before starting this one. We are locally owned, we carry WorkCover, public liability and professional indemnity insurance, and the arborists and climbers here work to the Australian standards for pruning.

We climb, and where there is no safe way to lower a section by hand we bring in a crane, so crane removals are part of what we can offer rather than a job we have to hand on. Once the tree removal is finished, stump grinding and mulching deal with what is left behind. For the trees that are staying, we do Australian Standard pruning, deadwooding, crown reductions and hedging, and we fit cable bracing and soft cabling systems where a limb or a union needs holding together.

Tree health diagnosis covers the pests and diseases that turn up around here. We identify and control them, elm leaf beetle included, and take out mistletoe where it has got a hold. Getting the diagnosis right first is the point, because what you do about a beetle is nothing like what you do about a tree in decline at the roots. Our consultancy and reports are written by an AQF5 diploma arborist, so an inspection can be put in writing for a council, an insurer or a body corporate that has asked for one.

The contracting side runs bigger: vegetation management, block clearing and land clearing where a whole site needs opening up. We take on government and commercial work as well as real estate and strata jobs and ordinary residential work, and where the brief is about putting something back we handle tree planting and nesting box installation.

We work across the Albury Wodonga region from our base at East Albury, and we run 24 hour emergency work, so a tree that has come down at two in the morning is still a call worth making.
