Bracing, root barriers and crown reduction are the jobs that keep a tree standing, and Charlie's Tree Service does all three. Charlie Biggins holds a Diploma in horticulture and arboriculture, and our arborists have been solving tree problems at homes and workplaces across Southern Tasmania since 2001. Plenty of the trees we are called to look at do not need to come out at all, and it is worth finding that out before the quote is written.

Where a tree does have to go, tree removal is planned around what is underneath it and taken down in sections when the space calls for it. We run compact trucks, which matters more in Hobart than it sounds, because a lot of these blocks are steep, the driveways are narrow and a full size truck simply cannot get to where the work is. Behind those we have the chipper, the stump grinder, a loader and an excavator, so a job does not stall waiting on hired plant.

For the trees staying, trimming, shaping and crown reduction take weight out of long limbs and lift a canopy off the roofline, while tree surgery covers the more careful work on a tree with structural problems worth addressing. Bracing supports a union that would otherwise fail, and root barriers keep roots away from the paths, pipes and foundations they would eventually lift.

Once the work is done, stump removal and stump grinding clear what is left below ground level, and the wood chipping turns the rest into mulch. Where a space needs filling again, our planting puts the right species into the right position, which is the cheapest tree work anybody ever does. Getting that choice wrong is what produces the removal job somebody else pays for in twenty years.
