About This Business
We're Paul and Connie Cherry, and Cherry Arbor Co. is the husband-and-wife business we run from the Huon Valley in southern Tasmania. Paul is the qualified arborist and does the climbing and the cutting, with a genuine preservation mindset and an eye for detail. Connie runs the office, lends a hand on projects and brings a nature nerd's love of tree species to the work, alongside a background in community engagement and planning. Our dachshund Juno rounds out the team as Chief Barketing Officer. We work for households, businesses and rural properties right across the Valley.
Tree pruning is done to the Australian Standard, AS4373-2007, so the cuts improve a tree's health, appearance and structure. That takes in crown shaping, deadwood removal and asset clearance, lifting and thinning growth back off buildings and fence lines while keeping the tree sound and looking like itself. Paul would always rather keep a good tree than take it out, and he plans each prune with that in mind.
When a tree is genuinely past it, diseased, damaged or posing a risk to your property or safety, our tree removal takes it down cleanly, so the rest of your garden and your buildings come through untouched. If a storm brings a tree down or drops a limb where it should not be, our emergency tree service handles the storm damage and the fallen trees, and we will talk you through what happens next.
Tree health care is where a problem gets caught before it takes the whole tree. We carry out tree health assessments and put together treatment plans for disease, pest infestation and the nutrient deficiencies that quietly weaken a tree, so a struggling tree has a real chance of turning around.
Our chipping and mulching closes the loop on the green waste: the chipper handles material up to 90mm and turns it into mulch that goes straight back on the garden to feed the soil and hold moisture in. We also build habitat, including installing habitat boxes for local wildlife. Alongside the tree work we take on gardening and landscape jobs, from the research and design of a garden through plant selection to putting it in the ground, plus hedge trimming, brush cutting and the soil and water management that keeps a garden going.
We are based in the Huon Valley and cover southern Tasmania, taking on residential and rural properties and consulting arborist work alike. Give us a ring on 0450 042 876 or email [email protected] and we will sort out a time to come and have a look.
