Four generations of our family have earned a living in trees. Our great grandfather cut timber around Wagga Wagga back when it was done without the machinery that makes it straightforward now, our grandfather ran a tree works company in Europe for more than forty years, and Eric's father is a Level 5 Arborist with twenty five years in the trade. Eric Devjak started Chip Off the Old Block in 2011, after years spent as a contract climber for other Brisbane tree companies, and he still takes the high work himself.

What came down through those generations is an attitude more than a technique. Nothing is too hard, the work gets done fast, it gets done clean, and the property gets treated properly on the way through. Sitting over the top of all of it is a zero harm rule that we do not negotiate on: if it is not safe we do not start, and if it stops being safe we stop. Our jobs are fully insured and run in line with local council requirements and workplace health and safety regulations, and the quote costs you nothing.

Trees of every shape and size come out through our tree removal and tree lopping, including the ones wedged between a fence and a roofline where the climbing matters more than the machinery. For the trees staying put, tree trimming and shaping keeps a canopy healthy and in proportion to the block it sits on. Queensland palms get their own attention through palm tree maintenance and removal, and once a trunk is gone, tree stump removal takes the remainder out so the ground is usable again.

Blocks that have disappeared under vegetation are opened back up with land clearing, ready for building, fencing or simply getting a mower through. When the weather turns, our emergency storm works run twenty four hours a day for fallen limbs and trees that have become dangerous overnight.
