If you have a whole block to clear rather than one tree to prune, that is squarely the sort of job we take. Chris Rowlands Services works out of Austins Ferry in the northern suburbs of Hobart, and on the tree side we handle large tree felling, felling of dangerous trees, shaping of large trees and site clearing.

We work with chainsaws, ladders, ropes and trucks, and we take on the trees that have outgrown where they were planted or have gone unsafe and need to come down under control. On a dangerous tree the point is to get it on the ground in the right order and the right direction, without taking a fence, a shed or a set of wires with it.

Nothing gets wasted once it is down. Untreated timber goes through the chipper and comes back as organic mulch you can put straight on the garden beds, and we sell firewood and wood off-cuts as well, which is worth knowing if you heat with wood over a Hobart winter.

Beyond the trees we do land, block and site clearing, rubbish removal and burnt house removal. We also work in asbestos, covering asbestos removal, clearance, transport, consultancy and property inspections, so on a site that has both a stand of trees and an old shed to deal with, you are not chasing two separate contractors to get it cleared. If you would rather tackle part of it yourself, we hire out an Avant articulated loader along with trucks and trailers.

We cover Hobart and the surrounding districts, taking in Glenorchy, Austins Ferry, Lindisfarne, Montagu Bay, Mornington, Clarence, Sorell, Midway Point and Dodges Ferry, and we travel Tasmania wide for the bigger clearing jobs.

We are available seven days, Monday to Sunday, and we run a 24 hour emergency service for the trees that come down outside working hours. Give us a ring or send an email and we'll come and price it up.
