Complete Vegetation Management (CVM)

2006 is when we started taking trees out of Melbourne's northern suburbs, and we have never worked anywhere else by choice. Phil and the crew at Complete Vegetation Management (CVM) have put more than 15 years into the same patch, looking after homeowners, builders and councils through the north and north east of the city, with commercial work taking us right across Victoria.

Fifteen years in one part of town teaches you the paperwork as well as the trees. We know which species the local councils protect, which ones they will let you take out, and what a permit application needs on it before it gets across the line, which is why builders bring us in before a site opens rather than after an inspection has gone against them. Every job is worked to AS 4373-2007, and every job gets its own SWMS written before a saw comes off the truck.

Some trees have to go, and on a tight block where the drop zone is a fence line or a swimming pool that means a slow setup and a complete clean up. We take them down whole or in sections depending on what is underneath, grind the stump out below the surface so turf or paving can go straight over the top, and where a full stump removal is not practical, tree stump poisoning stops the regrowth. What comes off the job goes through the chipper, and our mulching services either leave you the mulch or deliver it, so none of it needs to see a landfill.

Plenty of trees are worth keeping. We prune to put light back into a yard and take weight off the limbs hanging over a roof, trim hedges back off footpaths and out of the neighbours' sightlines, and handle tall or overgrown palms through palm tree cleaning and removal. Where a tree worth saving has started to split, we fit cable bracing and tree support across the weak union. Our certified arborists run tree risk assessments and tree health inspections that catch decay, disease or stress while something can still be done, and write council ready arborist reports for permits, planning and removals.

We are just as used to working for people who look after somebody else's property. Strata and property managers use us for fixed cost jobs that settle a tenant complaint inside the same week. Schools get us scheduled around bell times and term dates, aged care and healthcare grounds get paths and garden beds made safe with as little disruption to residents as we can manage, and commercial tree removal for councils and larger sites runs under public liability and indemnity cover.

The phone stays open 24 hours a day for emergency call outs, and on a storm job we clear the hazard and hand you the documentation an insurance claim or a council report is going to ask for.
