About This Business
Gary Dickie grew up in the bush, climbing trees long before he made a living out of them. With his wife Judy he started Dickies Tree Service, and more than 40 years on it is one of the oldest and most established tree surgeon outfits in WA. Their son Cameron runs it as Managing Director now, having come up through the business from groundsperson to crew leader across 23 years on the tools. Two generations of the family are still in it day to day, the team has grown past 40 staff, and the yard sits at Malaga.
Taking a tree out is rarely just the tree. Our crews handle tree removals and palm tree removal on tight suburban blocks, then follow through with stump grinding so you are not left with something to mow around. Tree pruning is the other side of the work, thinning and shaping to keep a tree sound as it grows. Everything that comes down goes through the chipper, and our tree mulching and woodchipping means free loads of mulch usually go back out with free delivery.
Power line clearance is specialised work and we hold contracts for it. We also write risk assessment reports where a tree's condition needs to be documented properly, look after strata management properties, and tender for the larger jobs. Over the years we have worked for major hospitals, universities, army bases, local councils, private golf courses and colleges, and insurance work is one of our specialities, so the paperwork side never holds the job up.
Working north, south and east of the river lets us cover the whole Perth metropolitan area, from Yanchep down to Rockingham. That takes in Joondalup, Wanneroo, Duncraig, Karrinyup, Scarborough, Trigg, Sorrento and Greenwood up north, Subiaco, Nedlands, Dalkeith, Claremont, Cottesloe, Peppermint Grove, Floreat and Wembley through the western suburbs, Morley, Dianella, Bayswater, Inglewood, Maylands, Ballajura and Guildford across the north east, Kalamunda, Forrestfield, High Wycombe and Maida Vale up in the hills, and Applecross, Ardross, Como, Attadale, Bicton and East Fremantle south of the river.
Quotes are free, and our quoting team works out the crew and the gear a job needs before anyone turns up, which is what keeps the awkward ones safe. We are fully insured, we run a seven day a week service, and we take emergency call-outs 24 hours a day when a tree has come down or gone unsafe. Give us a call or send through the enquiry form and we will get someone out to have a look at it.
