About This Business
Since 1986 our crews have been working trees across Toowoomba and the Darling Downs, and DJ Tree Services has been built around one kind of work: commercial, council and large scale tree management. Those are the jobs that arrive with a scope of works, a safety file and a program that has to be held. Councils, developers, schools and body corporates have kept us on their books across that time, and Energy Queensland and RoadTek sit on that client list alongside builders, civil contractors and commercial property managers. If you are a homeowner with one difficult tree, you are welcome here too, and the same crews turn up.
Every project we run is supervised by an AQF Level 3 arborist, and our operators are licensed for elevated work platforms, heavy machinery and complex rigging. Pruning follows AS4373-2007, the Australian Standard for the pruning of amenity trees, and our Work Health and Safety Management System is built to the Queensland Work Health and Safety Act 2011. We carry $20 million in public liability, and every crew member is covered by WorkCover QLD. Those are the credentials that get us through prequalification on public sector and high stakes commercial sites, and they are why a site manager can put us on a live project and stop thinking about it.
Commercial tree removal and site management is staged so a site can keep operating while we work, with traffic control coordinated around access, deliveries and people on foot. For energy and utility operators we take on vegetation management for energy and infrastructure, which means specialised vegetation control and hazard reduction around live assets and restricted access corridors. Land clearing and development support covers full site clearing for subdivisions, new builds, rural blocks and commercial expansions, with stump extraction and debris processing included, so the block is handed back workable rather than half cleared.
For councils and government bodies we take on ongoing tree maintenance, hazard reduction and storm response, and we write the documentation that has to stand up afterwards, including arborist reports and risk assessments prepared by the same qualified people who carry out the work. Each job opens with a site assessment, a resource and equipment allocation and a traffic management plan. On the day there are pre start inspections, proximity to power line checks, environmental monitoring and a toolbox talk with the safe work method statement reviewed in front of the crew.
Whether it is a single tree at a house in Toowoomba or a complex council contract out across the Darling Downs, the quote is free and the assessment comes from a qualified arborist. Our office is open Monday to Friday from 9:30am to 1:30pm, and the quickest way to start is to tell us where the site is, what the tree is doing and when you need it finished. Give us a call or send through the details by email, and we will come back to you with a plan and a price.
