Chris is a member of Wildlife ARC and volunteers his climbing skills to get native wildlife safely out of trees. He and Kelly Douglas own and run Douglas Treecraft between them, a husband and wife business on the Central Coast with five staff behind it. What we promise is that we treat your place like our own, and that shows up in the careful rigging, the lawn protection and a thorough clean-up before the truck pulls out of your driveway.

Pruning is where we would rather start. Our tree pruning and shaping covers crown thinning, deadwood removal and selective reductions to improve safety, structure and the light getting through, while looking after the long term health of the tree. We do not top trees. If pruning will solve your problem, we will tell you so and we will not push you towards a removal.

Our palm cleaning and removal is a speciality. Fronds and fruit make a mess of a yard and turn a path into a slip hazard, so we clean, trim or take the palm out entirely, and we can do that neatly in an enclosed courtyard or anywhere else the access is tight.

When a tree is dead, hazardous, badly placed or actively doing damage, we will dismantle and remove it, including in confined spaces where there is nowhere to drop anything. Stump grinding can be arranged afterwards so the area can be replanted or paved over. Some jobs need council permission depending on the species, the size and where the tree stands, and we will tell you what is typical and help you through the next steps.

Emergency and storm response gets priority from us. If a tree has failed or is at immediate risk of it, a phone call moves the job up the list so we can get out and make the property safe. All our work is carried out to Australian Standard AS 4373 by qualified crews with proper PPE and documented risk assessments, and we carry $20 million in public liability cover along with workers compensation for our staff.

You will find us across the Central Coast at Gosford, Erina, Terrigal, Wamberal, Avoca Beach, Kincumber, Bateau Bay, Umina Beach, Wyong, Tuggerah, Lake Munmorah, Yarramalong, Killarney Vale and Mangrove Mountain.
