Three wood chippers is not overkill, it is access. The 18 inch Vermeer drum chipper deals with what comes off a big removal, the 12 inch Auschip covers most of the rest, and the 9 inch Bandit is towable behind a 4WD, which is how a chipper gets onto a block with no room for a truck. Behind those sit a 12 metre travel tower, a Kato excavator, a Vermeer stump grinder, a 24 tonne log truck, a 15 cubic metre tipper, a bobcat, a wood splitter and all the climbing and rigging gear, every bit of it kept to a stringent maintenance schedule.

Stuart owns East Gippsland Tree Works and is a qualified arborist who has been in the tree removal business for more than 20 years, with the company providing tree services across Gippsland and the Mornington Peninsula for over 30. We carry 20 million dollars of public liability insurance, our workers are covered by compensation insurance, and the crew works strictly to the workplace laws set by Work Safe Victoria, in uniform and in whatever protective equipment the job calls for.

Bairnsdale is home base, and we cover the surrounding East Gippsland towns from there, Lakes Entrance, Metung and Paynesville among them, with work going across to the Mornington Peninsula as well. Being local also means local council knowledge, and we will help you with the council side of a job instead of leaving you to work the permits out on your own.

Then there is the lopping and felling: limbs that are interfering with a pathway, a power line, a gutter, a roof or the neighbour's fence, and the dead or weak ones that could cause an injury or damage something before anybody gets to them. We do weight reduction, cabling and bracing of trees and limbs, hazardous tree assessment and regular tree maintenance programs, along with advice on tree health and structure. For stumps we either grind the stump out completely or poison it, whichever suits the site, and the machinery is set up for land clearing on a development block, whether that is a new house or an industrial site. If you have already cut a tree down yourself, we will come and mulch it for you.

Very little leaves a job as waste. Green waste, branches and foliage are mulched, and mulch sales come with free delivery in local areas, up to the 15 cubic metres our truck holds, with smaller loads available. We sell firewood dry, split and ready to burn, in assorted gum loads and at times ti-tree or red gum, and if you have your own wood we will come to you and split it. When a storm goes through, the 24 hour emergency service runs 365 days a year: you get a written quotation straight away, and we aim to have emergency work under way within 48 hours of your first call.
