Eco Land Management Solutions (ELMS)

An elm being stripped by Elm Leaf Beetle can often be treated instead of removed. We inject imidacloprid straight into the stem, which controls the pest and keeps that tree protected for a number of years. That is the kind of work Eco Land Management Solutions, better known as ELMS, has been doing out of Tamworth for over a decade. Andrew Ferris and Brad Halloran run the business, and between the crew we hold Cert III Arborist, Level III chainsaw operations, horticulture and landscape construction qualifications, with full insurance behind all of it.

Our patch is a wide one. Across the Northwest we cover Tamworth, Gunnedah, Manilla, Quirindi, Werris Creek, Nundle, Boggabri and Narrabri. Through New England we take in Armidale, Walcha, Uralla, Glen Innes, Guyra and Inverell, and down in the Hunter we work Murrurundi, Scone, Muswellbrook, Singleton, Maitland and Newcastle. A tree removal is the same job wherever it is: a tree that is diseased, damaged or a safety concern, taken out safely and efficiently by a crew that is fully insured.

Our tree pruning is carried out to the Australian standard AS 4373-2007 as a minimum, and covers crown lifting, formative pruning, reduction, thinning, dead wooding and line clearing. Where a tree is too tall or too awkward to reach off the ground, our climbing arborists and our elevated work platform get to the difficult limbs and lower them to the ground under control. That access takes rigorous training and ongoing development to hold, which is why we keep it current.

Plenty of the trees we look at never need the saw. Our certified arborists carry out tree health assessments and give you recommendations you can act on, including specialised pesticide applications where they are warranted. Cypress Canker is one we come across, a fungal disease in Cupressus and Juniperus species that attacks the tree's ability to move nutrients around, and identifying it correctly decides what happens next. Where a tree does have to come out, our stump grinding takes the stump with it, and our tree planting helps you choose the right species and the right position for whatever goes in behind it.

Being a land management business as well as a tree business means our landscaping, fencing and broader land management work can put one crew across the trees, the ground and the boundaries of the same property, with a local builder and concreter alongside us when a job calls for it. After hours we deliver emergency make safe services for the insurance industry, and we work with the SES during times of need.
