About This Business

Every site around Albury Wodonga sits in an Ecological Vegetation Class, which is the technical way of saying that certain trees, shrubs and grasses belong in that ground and others never will. Matching what goes in to what belongs there decides whether a planting establishes itself or whether you spend the next five years replacing it. Eco Tree Care comes at the work from that end as readily as the other, which is why environmental revegetation plans sit on the same service list as tree removal.

Mitch runs the business out of South Albury and covers the Albury Wodonga region. He holds a Diploma of Arboriculture, a Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Agriculture and a B.Bus in Economics, and that combination is the reason a job here can start as an assessment of one tree and finish as a biodiversity plantation. Ring the number and you get the person who will be doing the assessing.

Tree pruning and tree removals are carried out in accordance with the Australian standards, and that takes in confined space tree removals where there is nowhere to drop anything and the tree has to come down in pieces, rigged out through whatever gap the site gives us. Every branch that comes off is mulched and recycled while we are still there, so the material stays in the system and your yard is clear when we leave.

For the trees you are keeping, we fit cable bracing, set up tree protection zones around work sites, and install tree root barriers where roots are heading somewhere they should not be. Mistletoe removal takes the load off a tree carrying too much of it. We do seed collection, and we put up nest boxes where a hollow has been lost and whatever was living in it still needs somewhere to go. Tree planting we handle end to end, from choosing what goes in through to getting it established.

Where a decision has to be made before anybody touches a tree, we write tree assessment reports and carry out aerial tree inspections, which means going up into the canopy to see the things that cannot be read from the ground. That is the document a council, an insurer or a neighbour will ask you to produce, and it puts the condition of the tree in writing with a name against it.

On the larger environmental jobs we take revegetation plans from design through to implementation. Plant selection is matched to your site's Ecological Vegetation Class so the trees, shrubs and grasses going in are the indigenous ones, and the on ground works follow from there: weed control, ground preparation, planting and protection. Biodiversity plantations and bush fire recovery sit under the same heading. Ring Mitch or send an email through, tell him what the site is doing, and he will arrange a time to come out and look at it and quote it for nothing.
