About This Business
Not every job here ends with a tree coming down. Eco Tree Care works out of South Albury across the Albury Wodonga region, and the list runs from keeping trees standing and getting new ones established through to taking them out when that turns out to be the answer. Mitch runs the business, holding a Diploma of Arboriculture alongside a Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Agriculture and a B.Bus in Economics, and that mix is why environmental revegetation plans sit on the same list as tree removal.
Tree pruning and tree removals are carried out in accordance with the Australian standards, and that includes confined space tree removals where there is nowhere to drop anything and the whole tree has to come down in pieces. Every branch that comes off the job is mulched and recycled, so the material stays useful instead of going out on a truck.
For the trees you are keeping, we fit cable bracing, set up tree protection zones around work sites and install tree root barriers where roots are heading somewhere they should not. We take out mistletoe, do seed collection and put up nest boxes where a hollow has been lost and whatever was living in it needs somewhere to go. Tree planting we handle end to end, from choosing what goes in to getting it into the ground.
Where a decision has to be made about a tree before anyone touches it, we write tree assessment reports and carry out aerial tree inspections, which means getting up into the canopy to see the things that cannot be read from the ground. A report of that kind is what a council, an insurer or a neighbour will usually want to see, and it puts the condition of the tree in writing rather than leaving it to opinion.
The larger environmental work runs to revegetation plans, design through to implementation. We match plant selection to your site's Ecological Vegetation Class so the trees, shrubs and grasses going in are the indigenous ones that belong there, and we do the on-ground works that follow: weed control, ground preparation, planting and protection. Bush fire recovery and biodiversity plantations come under the same heading. After a fire the question is which trees can come back and which cannot, and it is worth having that answered before anything is cleared.
We are open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with Saturdays by appointment. Quotes are free, so ring Mitch on 0402 821 000 or email [email protected] and we will arrange a time to come out and look at the site.
