About This Business
From the street trees of the CBD out to the bushland blocks of the Northern Beaches, Sydney keeps a lot of large trees very close to houses, and councils across the city want an arborist involved before certain ones come down. EcoArbor Tree Care works that whole spread, from our base on the Northern Beaches through Greater Sydney and up to the Central Coast, for homeowners, strata committees, commercial sites and government bodies.
Tom directs the business and has worked with trees since 2017, having studied Arboriculture and Environmental Arboriculture off the back of a career in marketing, and having lived in enough parts of the NSW east coast to know how the species here grow and what goes wrong with them. His first focus was technical climbing, which has since put him at the forefront of crane work and other difficult methods of access, and other companies have brought him in as lead climber to get their own jobs done safely. That is what a tree with no drop zone and no machine access needs: on those blocks tree removal is a rigging problem before it is a cutting one. We use the same skill more gently for tree pruning, lifting a canopy off a roofline or clearing a driveway while leaving the tree's structure intact.
The stump goes out with stump grinding, taken down below the surface so you can turf, pave or plant over the top of it, and land clearing opens up a block before building, fencing or landscaping starts. Everything that leaves your property has somewhere proper to go: timber is recycled for lumber or firewood, green waste becomes habitat or mulch, and we run biodegradable oils in the saws so nothing harmful ends up in your soil. Before any of it starts, we talk you through what we are proposing, so there are no surprises and no mess left behind.
Councils around Sydney ask for an arborist report before they will sign off a development application or a tree removal permit. Ours cover the tree's health, its structural integrity and the risks that come with both, a pest and disease inspection, practical recommendations on care and treatment, and guidance on where you stand under local tree protection regulations. How long it takes depends on the size of the property and how many trees are in it, but once the assessment is done the written report reaches you within a few business days.
Our arborists are certified and carry full public liability and workers compensation cover, and emergency call outs run 24 hours a day for the limb that has come loose over the house or the tree that has come down in a blow. For anything less urgent, ring us and we will come and inspect the property, and you will have a free written quote in your hands within 24 hours of that visit.
