The team at Ecotrees The Tree Specialists is not the usual line-up. It takes in a qualified forester with a BSc in Forestry from 2009, a horticulturist with a Diploma of Horticulture from 2004, and experienced, qualified labourers, which means the advice you get on a tree comes from someone who has studied how trees grow and someone who has studied how gardens are built. We are based in Canberra and we work throughout the ACT and the nearby NSW towns.

We carry public liability and professional indemnity to $20,000,000, GIO workers compensation, we produce Safe Work Method Statements, we hold chainsaw certification, and all our work is carried out to the Australian Standard AS 4373-2007 for the pruning of amenity trees. On the ground we take on tree felling and removal of small and large trees, tree pruning and trimming, stump removal, and hedge maintenance on hedges of any height, so nobody in the household is hanging off a ladder with a trimmer. If you have a tree that looks off colour, we will come and inspect it, run a detailed health check and tell you what your options actually are. Where a tree cannot wait, we take emergency tree work as well.

The horticultural side of the team widens what we can do once the tree work is finished. We handle soil preparation, mulching of garden beds, landscape construction, installation of garden features, irrigation and drainage systems and weeding, so a yard that has just had a large tree taken out of it can be rebuilt properly instead of left as bare ground. Green waste removal and fire hazard reduction matters a great deal on blocks around the ACT where the fuel load climbs every year.
