The tree is in the back corner, and the only way to it is the side gate. That single fact is what turns a straightforward job into an expensive one for most crews, and it is the reason our cherry picker is self drive: it needs the width of a garden trailer to get through, and once it is in the backyard the job is done from a platform instead of from a rope and a lot of guesswork. Where even a garden trailer's width is more than you have got, the climbers take over. That is the whole point of holding both skills: a tree in a courtyard, over a shed, between two houses or on a slope no machine will hold on gets climbed and dismantled without any heavy gear coming onto the property at all. Nothing is driven across the lawn, and nothing gets dropped and hoped for.

The work itself covers tree removal and felling for the dead, the dangerous and the ones that have simply become a problem, and tree pruning and lopping to get deadwood and unsafe branches out of a canopy before they come down on somebody. Branches up to 150mm go through the chipper on site, and the timber either leaves with us or stays stacked for your own firewood, whichever you would rather. Stump removal is done with a remote controlled stump muncher, so the operator is never sitting on top of the machine in a spot where that would be a bad idea.

One more thing the cherry picker does, since it is already on the truck: it reaches nineteen metres and carries water, power and compressed air up with it, so gutter and roof cleaning and chimney and flue cleaning can be done off the same platform.
