About This Business
A National Diploma in Arboriculture from the United Kingdom and a Certificate V in Arboriculture from Australia sit behind every job we take on at Family Tree Care. We have been established in the Redland City area of South East Queensland for more than ten years, working out of Redlands Business Park at Redland Bay, and there is over thirty years of industry experience behind the business, gathered in the United Kingdom, Europe, New Zealand and Australia. We hold Public Liability, WorkCover and all vehicle insurances, and you are welcome to ask for a copy of the public liability certificate before we start.
Whether you are a homeowner, a commercial organisation or a local authority, the work is always performed to Australian Standards. We have run urban development and Council tree contracts, and we keep documented assurance covering our health and safety policies, risk assessment procedures and environmental management policies, with a management system built on the principles of AS/NZS ISO 9001:2008 and an Environmental Management System in line with ISO 14001. Our aim is to stay progressive in outlook, to keep training our people, and to give you service worth recommending.
Our tree removals cover trees of any size, from a tight suburban backyard through to acreage. Tree maintenance and surgery keeps established trees and streetscapes in good order, dealing with weak limbs, deadwood and crowded growth before any of it turns into a problem, and stump grinding takes out what a removal leaves behind so the ground can be levelled, turfed or replanted. For the palms this region is full of, palm tree cleaning and removal deals with dead fronds and heavy seed heads, and with palms that have outgrown the spot they were planted in.
On the consultancy side, our arborist reports are produced in accordance with Australian Standard 4970-2009 Protection of Trees on Development Sites and meet local Council reporting guidelines, so planning authorities accept them. Hazard and tree risk assessment reports are produced for managers of trees in public and private open spaces where risk is the primary concern, including schools and residential and commercial complexes. An arboricultural statement covers a tree's health or environmental impact for residents applying to their local council for permission to remove or reduce a tree covered by Local Laws. Tree management plans record a treescape and set a review and maintenance cycle across a five year period, and construction impact assessment reports assess the trees affected by a development and assign them retention categories.
We also give practical advice on tree disputes, where a boundary tree or an overhanging branch has become an issue between neighbours. Family Tree Care currently services Redland Bay, Alexandra Hills, Aquatic Paradise, Birkdale, Capalaba, Carbrook, Cleveland, Gumdale, Raby Bay, Sheldon, Thornlands, Victoria Point and Wellington Point, with other areas by appointment. Quotes are free and carry no obligation. Phone the Redland Bay office or send through an enquiry and we will arrange a time to come and look at your trees.
