Gippy Tree Services was set up in early 2016 by director and qualified arborist Luke Sheppard, and has grown into one of the better known tree care outfits across Gippsland. Behind the name is a team of qualified arborists and operators, along with OHS and admin staff, carrying more than 20 years of industry experience between them. The business works for both private clients and the public sector, and it is fully insured with a 20 million dollar public liability policy available on request.

The core tree work covers tree removals, tree pruning, tree lopping and deadwooding, handled by arborists who treat no two jobs as the same. For big or awkward removals they run an extensive range of plant and machinery, including excavators, rope access systems for complex climbs and a cherry picker for height work, so a tree in a tight backyard or hanging over a roof can be taken down in sections rather than felled in one go.

Alongside the felling and pruning, Gippy Tree Services offers stump grinding, mulching and mulch sales, hedging and general arborist services. The mulch they produce is sold on rather than carted away, and the stump grinding clears what a removal leaves behind so the ground can be replanted or built on. Free quotes are provided on every job, with health and safety treated as central to how the work is planned and carried out. Cut timber and green waste are chipped down on site, which keeps the clean up tidy and the job moving.

For trees that have already caused trouble, the crew handles storm and fire damage recovery, bringing the manpower and equipment to clear fallen and damaged trees after a big blow or a fire has been through.
